9/14 Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Press Briefing

Q: Some foreign journalists in China have said their email accounts have been hacked, and they suspect China was involved in this. What is China’s comment on the matter?

A: China manages the internet according to the law, and cooperates in security matters with the international community. Internet security is a complex issue, and China is also a victim of cyberattacks. It’s difficult to determine the source of cyberattacks, and you’re not being serious about it if you come to any relevant conclusions without a thorough investigation and sufficient evidence.
